Here's what some of our readers have to say:
Your columns are wonderful--very truthful and honest. I
have two girls, and I get so wrapped up in the negative that I forget
there are rewards. Your columns help me remember that my daughters need
a positive response to their perceptions and feelings.
--Patty, Redwood City, Calif.
I shared your column, "Blessed are the Flexible,"
with my 6-year- old who may not have understood it to the degree that I did, but we were able to talk about the importance of
God's surprises in our lives each day.
Thank you very much for reminding me about the Spirit around us and giving me another opportunity to share that with my son.
--Janine, Grapevine, Tex.
I share your writings with my friends
and especially with my mom. Each of your articles has brought giggles to
our visits. Of course, then she shares her own stories. One great thing
about her dementia is that her past experiences are quite vivid. In her
storytelling she (like I have noticed in your work) finds, celebrates, and
points out the special-ness in what most of us take for granted. Keep
writing these gems.
--Johnnie, Bothell, Wash.
I enjoy your columns in our local paper
and have cut several out to save for
my grandchildren when they get older! Today' s column
is on bowling. I, too, resolve to live the way I bowl! God Bless and keep up
the good work.
--Phyllis, Carmel, Ind.
I am a regular reader, and I look
forward, with eagerness, to receiving your
wise words. I have a strong background
in theology, teach high school religion, but find that my life is
radically different now than it was when I was single, and had time to
read Rahner. Now I am thrilled to find your words oriented toward the
experience I have with three little ones. Your words are very empowering; that we
do make a difference, even when it comes to making dinner! Thank you for
your gift of writing.
